A Message from the President
Welcome to Sligo Field Club. We were founded in 1945 and promote an interest in the built and natural environment. These interests include archaeology, history including industrial, architectural and engineering history, folklore, botany, ornithology and geology. We plan to build up a digital photographic archive of archaeological and architectural sites in Co. Sligo, and invite all our members to contribute photos. We have a sizable collection of 35mm colour slides going back to the 1960s.
A list of publications by members, both past and present, is included on this site and we welcome contributions from all our members of a practical and scholarly nature.
The website is an ongoing 'work in progress’, with some sections being a sample of what is to come. We invite your comments and ideas about what you would like to see included.
I hope that you enjoy your visit to this site and that you find it both useful and beneficial and that it helps to further your interest in our built heritage and our environment.
