SFC Poster: List of Contents

In 2005 President Aidan Mannion conceived, designed and published a poster entitled Our Sligo, Heritage of the County, Oidhreacht an Chondae for and on behalf of Sligo Field Club. The 59 images, beginning at the top left and progressing chronologically clockwise, give a flavour of the rich heritage of this county. This initial list, derived from a work in preparation, simply tells what is illustrated and where it is. The underlying design is that of one of the Early Christian Carrowntemple slabs.

Publications by Members of SFC

As part of our continuing practice of enlightening the people of Sligo and those who deal with it in matters antiquarian we are providing a number of bibliographies. One contains works, books and publications on any topic, by members of Sligo Field Club. The other contains works, books and publications, which would be of prime interest to those researching the archaeology and history of Co. Sligo. Both lists have been developed by Martin A. Timoney from the Bibliographies in A Celebration of Sligo, 2002, edited by Timoney, Had Me Made by Mary B. Timoney, 2005, articles referenced by both those authors, Sligo: Sources of Local History by McTernan, 1994, further references assembled from years of research and included in A Guide to Archaeological Sources for Co. Sligo by Bolton, Timoney and Timoney, forthcoming, and other references that have come to recent notice.
